The Omicron Iota Iota Chapter was charted on 29 May 1992. Prior to the establishment of the Chapter on post, brothers stationed at Fort Leavenworth would transit to Kansas City and Topeka to fellowship with Omicron XI, Beta Omega, and Delta Phi. Omicron Iota Iota is primarily a military chapter which supports brothers assigned to Fort Leavenworth and the surrounding Leavenworth community.  Brothers of Omicron Iota Iota chapter were initially known as the “Frontier Ques”.  The name was assigned to brothers of the chapter because Fort Leavenworth was established in the late 1800s for the explicit purpose of westward expansion on the western frontier.   In the early 1990s, Colin  Powell, Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff  led  Fort Leavenworth, the Army and the local community in recognizing the efforts of the Buffalo Soldiers which were the first Black soldiers in America’s history. Consequently, the connotation as “Frontier Ques” in Omicron Iota Iota chapter has evolved to the “Buffalo Soldier Ques”.  Today, the chapter continues to cater to brothers assigned to Fort Leavenworth attending the yearly Command and General Staff College as well as many other soldiers assigned to the Combined Arms Center (CAC), the Battle Command Training Program (BTCP), Department of the Army civilians and military retirees living in the local community.  Since it’s charter the chapter has hosted and supported over 120 brothers for the sole intent of supporting the local community.
